Capt. Lowell, to his own self admission, has been many things in his life. From a contractor, to historian, to software engineer, he has wore many hats (and more) in his laps around the sun. As the son, of a son, of a sailor (RIP Jimmy) one constant throughout it all has been an unrelenting draw and connection to the water.

Growing up on the fresh and spending his adult life on the salt, Lowell has always been drawn to the siren’s song of the sea; the excitement and joy being out there brings. After leaving his career as a software engineer in 2023 to help his best friend and wife, Katie, follow her dream and open a second hair salon in Portsmouth, Lowell ultimately decided to follow his passion in lieu of going back to corporate tech.

Achieving his OUPV Captain’s license in March of 2024, Capt. Lowell started CRUISE to bring his passion for the water to those who seek it and share the beauty and rich maritime tradition of the New England seacoast.
